Terms & Conditions
These Terms govern the use of the Party Buddy website, services, hire equipment, and products. By placing a booking or order you agree to be bound by these Terms.

Services
Party Buddy provides:
- Party hire equipment and event hire items
- Party-related products for purchase
- Delivery and pickup services
- Australia-wide shipping for selected purchase items
Hire services are available within Melbourne and surrounding areas only unless otherwise agreed.
Hire Bookings
3.1 Booking Confirmation
A hire booking is confirmed only after the required deposit has been paid and the booking has been accepted by Party Buddy. Availability is subject to confirmation.
3.2 Deposit
A non-refundable deposit equal to 25% of the total hire booking amount is required to secure a booking.
3.3 Remaining Balance
The remaining 75% balance must be paid no later than 2 days prior to the event date. Failure to pay the remaining balance may result in cancellation of the booking without refund of the deposit.
3.4 Cancellation Policy
- The 25% deposit is strictly non-refundable.
- Cancellations made 7 or more days before the event date may receive a refund of the remaining balance amount only.
- Cancellations made within 7 days of the event date are non-refundable.
- No refunds are provided for cancellations caused by weather, change of mind, venue issues, or customer-related circumstances.
Party Buddy may, at its discretion, provide store credit instead of a refund.
Security Bond / Pre-Authorisation
Certain hire bookings may require a refundable security bond or payment pre-authorisation. The bond amount may vary depending on item type, booking value, event risk, and delivery method.
Bond may be used to cover:
- Late return fees
- Cleaning fees
- Repair or replacement costs
- Unpaid balances
- Damaged or missing items
Release of bond:
Unused bond amounts will be released or refunded after inspection of returned items.
Hire Period & Returns
5.1 Hire Period
Standard hire includes the event day and return by the following day at the agreed return time.
5.2 Late Returns
Late returns incur additional charges equal to 50% of the daily hire rate for each additional day or part thereof. Party Buddy reserves the right to charge additional fees automatically where authorised.
5.3 Cleaning
All hire items must be returned in clean and proper condition. If items are returned excessively dirty, stained, damaged, or requiring abnormal cleaning, a flat cleaning fee of $100 may apply.
Damage, Loss & Responsibility
Customers are fully responsible for all hired items from the time of collection or delivery until returned and accepted by Party Buddy.
Customers agree to pay:
- Full repair costs for damaged items
- Full replacement cost for lost, stolen, or irreparably damaged items
Customers must not:
- Misuse or modify items
- Expose items to unsafe conditions
- Use items contrary to manufacturer instructions
Delivery & Pickup
Delivery
Party Buddy offers delivery within Melbourne and surrounding areas. Delivery times are estimates only and may vary due to traffic, weather, operational issues, or customer availability.
Pickup
Customers collecting items are responsible for safe transportation, proper securing of items, safe loading/unloading, and ensuring suitable vehicle capacity. Party Buddy is not liable for any injury, damage, or loss arising during customer transport.
Purchase Items
8.1 Product Orders
Party Buddy sells party-related products including:
- Confetti cannons
- Holi powder
- Smoke cannons
- Smoke emitters
- Decorations
- Consumables
Purchase item orders are separate from hire bookings and may follow different payment, shipping, and cancellation processes.
8.2 Shipping
Purchase items may be shipped Australia-wide. Shipping fees are non-refundable unless required under Australian Consumer Law.
Purchase Order Cancellations & Returns
9.1 Cancellation Before Shipping
Purchase orders may be cancelled for a full refund prior to the order being marked as Preparing, Shipped, or Fulfilled.
9.2 Returns
Customers may request a return for eligible purchase items. Conditions:
- Items must be unused and returned in original condition.
- Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer.
- Original shipping charges are non-refundable.
Not eligible for return: consumable or opened items including holi powder, smoke products, confetti products, and opened party consumables.
9.3 Refund Assessment
Returned items will be inspected upon receipt. Party Buddy may approve a full refund, approve a partial refund, or reject the return if items are not returned in acceptable condition.
Safety & Product Liability
Certain products sold or hired by Party Buddy may involve smoke, powder, compressed gas, confetti, or visual effects.
Customers must check venue restrictions before use. Venue approval may be required.
Customer responsibilities:
- Use products safely and according to instructions
- Do not use near fire hazards, restricted venues, animals, or vulnerable individuals
- Note that some products may stain clothing, surfaces, or property
- Obtain venue approval before use
Party Buddy is not liable for:
- Venue penalties or cleaning costs
- Allergic reactions
- Misuse or unsafe handling
- Property damage caused by improper use
Weather Policy
No refunds are provided due to rain, wind, storms, heat, natural events, or any weather-related cancellation or disruption.
Website Use
Users must not:
- Misuse the website or attempt unauthorised access
- Interfere with system operations
- Submit fraudulent orders
- Use the website unlawfully
Party Buddy may suspend or refuse service at its discretion.
Australian Consumer Law
Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts, or modifies any rights or remedies available under the Australian Consumer Law ("ACL") or other applicable legislation.
Where goods or services supplied by Party Buddy come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the ACL, customers are entitled to remedies permitted under law and Party Buddy's liability is limited to the extent permitted by law.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Party Buddy is not liable for:
- Indirect or consequential loss
- Event disruption or loss of profits
- Personal injury arising from misuse of products or hire items
- Delays beyond reasonable control
Customers assume all risk associated with the use of hired or purchased items.
Privacy
Party Buddy may collect personal information necessary to process bookings and orders, provide services, communicate with customers, and comply with legal obligations.

Changes to Terms
Party Buddy may update these Terms at any time without prior notice. The latest version published on the website applies to all future bookings and orders.
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Victoria.

Acceptance at checkout
By accepting these Terms at checkout, you confirm that you have read and agree to version 2026-05-22-v1. The acceptance time and version are recorded against your booking or order.
